South Bowl Philadelphia
I recently had the opportunity to visit South Bowl Philadelphia on an employee outing. I’ve frequented quite a few bowling alleys over the years and was quite impressed with the overall ambiance and offerings that South Bowl provided. As a group we rented out two lanes for a couple of games and ordered a bunch of food and drink to snack on throughout the evening. I will review the experience below!
When you first walk in, you will check in with the host. Make sure that everyone arrives together as they will not seat you until the full party is present. Each person will trade in a shoe in exchange for a pair of bowling shoes. Once seated, the kiosk will allow you to set up the game and you’re all set. Pick your size bowling ball and get ready to strike out. You can even opt in or out of using bumpers each round.
The food offerings at South Bowl are diverse and can satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Since we had a large group, we ordered a bunch of appetizers and the margherita pizza. Some really unique appetizers included vegetarian wings (served on a bamboo skewer) in an Asian hoisin sauce. The texture was similar to chicken and it was made out of soy. The bang bang cauliflower was also a hit and was served up crispy and coated in batter with bang bang sauce drizzled all over it. Otherwise, we sampled different tater tots, jalapeno pretzel bombs, tacos, haloumi fries and more.
For dessert, we ordered some funnel cake fries which I found a little too sweet for my liking. We also ordered a s’mores skillet which was absolutely delicious. I would definitely return for this as it was fantastic and great to share with friends.
Overall South Bowl Philadelphia is a great spot to gather at with friends. The games are affordable and the food is delicious. I highly recommend considering it for your next group outing! As a team, we truly enjoyed it.
