January 2019 Spotify Playlist
DaniLeigh - Lil Bebe (ft. Lil Baby) - Remix*
I absolutely love this song because it makes me feel so confident and happy. I’m all work, if you want that because I’m not just any girl and this song depicts that so well.
A.CHAL - DÉJALO*
A.CHAL is always so fun to listen to and his recent release, EXOTIGAZ, is no exception. Definitely check out this guy.
DaniLeigh - The Plan*
Gotta stick to the plan this year and focus on myself and my career. This might be the anthem of the year for me. Of course, sticking to the plan doesn’t have to be stressful though.
Doja Cat - Casual*
Is it casual? I love the pace of this song and the lyrics. It’s a big mood.
iyla - Juice*
I fell in love with iyla’s voice and she’s super friendly on Instagram. I feel like this song is so perfectly orchestrated blending R&B and some alternative/indie. Also, I love when things fall into perfect place.
A.CHAL - INDIGO GIRL*
Another slow burn from A.CHAL. I absolutely love the lyrics and need to remember to let go sometimes.
Etta Bond - #Bad4Me
Etta Bond’s voice is so delicate and sexy on this track. I really have been enjoying this song lately.
NIKI - Dancing with the Devil
This song is so dreamy and smooth. I’m probably dancing with the devil too and I am not sorry.
Lolo Zouaï - Challenge
I love a challenge, too. Lolo Zouaï always makes the best songs with some french mixed in. If you didn’t check her out last January, then you should this time around.
Rayana Jay - Way Back
Rayana Jay really sets the mood with this track and the brass instruments make this song so flirty and fun.
Ayelle & Nakala - Actor
This is the best collab between Ayelle and Nakala. This track is so moody and fierce.
Always Never - Dangerous
This is a great blend of R&B and alternative from this duo. I feel like it is reminiscent of Imogen Heap almost.
anders & Emerson - Problems*
I really love this song and anders of course. Highly recommend giving this song a listen.
NAV & Travis Scott - Champion
This track is such a fun collaboration and super fun to listen to during my recent workouts.
XXXTENTACION & Trippie Redd - F*ck Love
Yes, I am adding this song to my playlist after a lot of conflict with endorsing XXXTENTACION. I must admit he makes good music, R.I.P. This song reminds me of a studio ghibli/lo-fi type of song.
Anderson .Paak & Kendrick Lamar - Tints
This song is funky, upbeat and so lovely. It makes me so happy and good-spirited.
Rae Sremmurd, Swae Lee & Slim Jxmmi - Guatemala
Another upbeat song with some dance-hall inspired beats.
CLEW. - First Whip (Drive Me Wild)
This R&B song is so cute and fun.
Shanzyan - Dream Come True
If there ever was a low key song about meeting the right person, it is this track right here.
Aftertheparty - Bupropion*
This song glides through some simple chords and flowing vocals. It’s a perfect song to relax to at night.
Sudan Archives - Nont for Sale*
Don’t steal my light or dampen my vibes. This song is about living your best life without letting people bring you down. Motto of 2019.
Parisalexa - Ballin
An anthem for all my independent, boss babes in 2019.
ODIE - North Face*
ODIE’s vocals are so calming and complement the acoustics superbly in this song.
Balcony - Pink Hair, Green Eyes
This song is whimsical and lazily flows from beginning to end.
Ekali & Yuna - Leaving
This song is so beautiful and builds into a magical indie duet.
Sebastian Roca - You
Another lazy Sunday love song. My personal favorite Sunday songs.
RINI & Snaggle Owky - For the Last Time
I love the chorus and how their voices hover over some wavering beats.
UMI - Remember Me
A letter to the past because it’s time to let it go. Thank you for the lessons.
Forrest. & Biskwiq - Sunday
Love throwing this song on Sunday mornings.
BRIDGE - Lord Knows
2019 is the year for redemption and forgiveness so here is a song that reflects this.
Rex County Orange - Best Friend
I love this song and the twangy vocals from Rex.
Masego - I Had a Vision
A sultry song from none other than Masego that is an ode to strong independent women.
Ramriddlz - Oceans
There are so many tongue-in-cheek play on words in this song and a nod to Hot Cheetos (my favorite).
Frvrfriday - Channel Red
The bass on this track is so good. Always a good song for a workout or hanging out.
Post Malone - Wow.
Another catchy song from Post Malone. You’ll probably hear it everywhere now.
