One reason to fall in love with Vermont is its abundance of great cheese, chocolate and more. Cabot Farmers’ Store and Ben & Jerry’s Factory offer exactly that in Waterbury, Vermont. From free cheese tastings to a factory tour with a scoop included, there is plenty to explore by day. Waterbury is close enough to Burlington, Vermont to further explore some great culinary offerings by night. These include Dobrá Tea and Leunig’s Bistro. Cabot Farmer’s Store

Cabot is a great cheddar cheese company with a variety of flavors and offerings. The Cabot Farmers’ Store in Waterbury, Vermont is a cheese aficionado’s dream-come-true. Sample over 20 different types of cheese and browse dozens of different products ranging from maple syrup, jams, hard ciders and wine. Here you have all the means to create the most mesmerizing cheeseboard yet.

Ben & Jerry’s Factory

Ben and Jerry’s does not need an introduction but I will introduce them just in case. They are a great ice cream brand that specializes in social justice reform, environmentalism, LGBTQ+ rights and other humanitarian issues. Their ice cream flavor names touch upon whimsical references to pop culture and more. As for the ice cream, the texture is absolutely rich and creamy. I highly suggest trying the Justice ReMix’d flavor while it is still available. I never enjoy chocolate-based ice cream but this is one I crave to this day. It is the perfect blend of chocolate and cinnamon ice cream with spicy brownie pieces and cinnamon dough. Least I forget, the Maple Walnut flavor is also a must as it is only available at the Waterbury, Vermont location.

Stowe

Trapp Family Lodge Resort

Sound of Music fanatics would absolutely love coming to the Trapp Family Lodge. They even offer tours where a family member may even appear for a Q&A session. If you haven’t been to Austria, this is the next best thing. The lodge truly feels like you have been transported to Austria and makes sense why the Trapp family decided to settle here after leaving Europe. There is even a family brewery on the premise for your enjoyment and a gift shop with tons to explore.

Stowe Mountain Ski Resort

If time permitted, I would have definitely spent a day boarding here. The resort offers a ton of activities and trails for any level skier or snowboarder. I can’t wait to return with friends to spend some time on the mountain.

Burlington

Dobrá Tea

Dobrá Tea was first formed in Prague back when communism left imported tea solely to the upper military elite. A tea revolution formed and the devotees were able to gather and share ideas and tea from all over the world. First bringing Dobrá to Burlington, Vermont, the sacred tradition of tea is now shared throughout the United States in various locations. Bring some friends and share time over several cups of tea here. There’s literally a plethora to choose from ranging from different countries to types.

Leunig’s Bistro

Leunig’s is bustling French American bistro and cafe that serves up some divine entrees and cheese plates. Sample a variety of local, fresh cheeses or even a sweet and savory maple walnut crusted salmon. With generous portions, try to save some room for dessert.

Saratoga Olive Oil Company

This is a store filled with a variety of flavored and infused oils. it’s truly hard not to take home several. With free tastings, you won’t have to worry about how your purchase may taste. Try before you buy and open your palette to some great culinary combinations.

Waterbury and Burlington, Vermont are culinary gems that are worth exploring. I suggest having a light breakfast if you plan to eat your way through these towns.
