Cold Weather Chic

Cold weather does not mean one has to dress as a marshmallow all season. Here's a peek at my go to winter attire.

I usually opt for a marled turtleneck from Urban Outfitters to keep myself warm. One protip I cannot stress enough is using Underarmour or fleece lined leggings as opposed to the generic thin leggings you find in stores. They keep you so much warmer and have been a winter staple for years. I love wearing them on days where I don't want to slip into jeans. Throw on some cute boots and you've got an all black outfit that literally takes no time and doesn't sacrifice warmth.

On cooler days I reach for this water resistant parka from Zara. It comes with a detachable fur so I can wear it on cooler rainy days or throw it in the washing machine without heartache. I love this parka because it comes with velvety roomy pockets that keep my hands warm even when I forget gloves. The mid length is perfect for frigid temperatures whilst still being more streamlined than puffer coats. I love the gold hardware which dresses the parka up as opposed to the usual distressed copper hardware I see. As with anything Zara has some amazing quality jackets that are functional and fashionable. I've gone through two winter seasons and haven't felt the chill yet. As an added bonus, I've noticed that this coat gets noticed whether I'm at a pre-release show for Cold Weather Company or traipsing about Jersey City for SantaCon. A true testament that shows that you don't need to sacrifice warmth for style.
